Learning Resources and Reading
In this section, we hope you will find all the information you need to support use of the LRC and all the services we provide.
In 2018 we received a SLS-UK School Library Award, for quality of provision across five broad areas. We also hold an Inclusive Minds certificate showing our commitment to ensure all children can find authentic representations of themselves in books, as well as seeing those who are different from them.
Use of the LRC
All year 7 students participate in an LRC induction during their first term at Warlingham. During this induction, they visit the LRC and learn how to take advantage of the resources available.
Students in Years 7, 8 & 9 may use the LRC as a quiet space during break and lunchtimes should they wish to. The LRC is also used to provide an after-school Home Learning Club, supported by th LRC Co-ordinator.
Eclipse - Library Management System
Eclipse.net is a web-based library management system which can be accessed from the school’s website, so use is not confined just to in school. This system allows our students to browse resources we hold on the system (although there is no substitute for actually handling the resources in the LRC), reserve books that are currently out on loan, review books they have read and create a ‘shopping list’ of future reads! All this is achieved from an extremely user-friendly front screen. The students have commented on how user-friendly Eclipse is and have worked their way around the system with confidence. However, we have also produced a brief user guide for students should they require some notes to support them. Please click the link below to view this guide.
The system can be accessed from the Student quicklinks menu at the top of this website, or by clicking the button below. Usernames and passwords are notified to students during the induction session.
We recommend two websites that you may find useful. Please click either of the links below to go to those websites:
