Futures First Careers Fair 2023
On Wednesday 26th April, we were delighted to host our second annual Futures First Careers and Universities Fair.
This event was even bigger and better than last year as we were able to invite all students in Years 10-13 to attend, so nearly 700 students were involved. During their visit, students spent time talking to the exhibitors, interacting with games/quizzes, engaging with various activities that promoted different industries and institutions and collecting a whole host of information leaflets and freebies. This event could not have happened without the time and energy of all our exhibitors. We were excited to welcome a wide range of representatives from the following organisations:
- Palace For Life Foundation
- Gallagher Construction
- The Kia Oval Surrey Cricket
- Altonwood Golf Group
- Hobbledown Farm
- The Army
- MET Police
- Surrey Fire and Rescue complete with full fire engine
- Ambassadors from the STEM Hub and Founders4Schools
- Delfont Mackintosh Group
- Greenwich University
- St Mary’s Twickenham University
- East Surrey College
- The Home Office
- Milk and Honey PR
- Surrey County Council
- And the HR and Finance Teams from our Tandridge Learning Trust
Our exhibitors were very positive in their feedback from the day and were highly complementary about the way our students conducted themselves. As a result of the enthusiasm and behaviour displayed by our students, we have received many offers of future trips and offers of work experience from some of the exhibitors.
One of my highlights was the number of girls interested in IT. The industry is crying out for more women and can offer great roles.
David Chalmers, AWS/HPE IT Industry
I thoroughly enjoyed discovering the interests of the future generation.
Callum Evans from Gallagher Construction
Thank you to everyone involved in making the day a big success and beneficial to all our students’ next steps.
