Initial outcomes indicate an improvement on last year's performance in the percentage of students achieving grade 4 or above in both English and Mathematics for the third consecutive year. Outcomes at grades 5 and above and grades 7 and above remain broadly in line with last year's strong performance. Overall Attainment 8 has increased, representing the school's strongest attainment performance in the post-pandemic period.
While national Progress 8 comparisons remain challenging because of the absence of Key Stage 2 SATs data for this cohort, internal analysis based on CAT test scores suggests a further improvement in student progress compared with 2025.
The school is also particularly pleased with the significant improvement in outcomes for disadvantaged students. Achievement for Pupil Premium students in English and Mathematics at both grade 4+ and grade 5+ has improved substantially, alongside stronger overall Attainment 8 performance, demonstrating the positive impact of the school's continued focus on inclusion and closing attainment gaps.
Headteacher, Paul Foster, said:
"Firstly, I would like to congratulate our students on their excellent GCSE results and thank our staff for their incredible hard work in supporting their success. This year group has demonstrated determination, resilience and ambition throughout their time at Warlingham, and they should be immensely proud of what they have achieved.
We are particularly pleased to see continued improvements in key measures, including Attainment 8, and the significant progress made by our Pupil Premium students. These outcomes reflect the commitment of our students, the support of their families and the dedication of our staff. We look forward to seeing many of our Year 11 students continue their educational journey with us in the Sixth Form and wish every member of the cohort every success in the future."
Senior Deputy Headteacher, Paul Kinder, said:
"I would like to extend my sincere congratulations to all our Year 11 students. Their achievements are the result of sustained effort, perseverance and a positive approach to learning. It is especially encouraging to see improvements across a range of attainment measures and the continued success of students from all backgrounds. I would also like to thank parents and carers for their invaluable support throughout the GCSE years. We are proud of all that our students have accomplished and look forward to seeing them thrive in their next steps."
We look forward to welcoming many of our students into Warlingham Sixth Form College in September to continue their learning journey with us. We would also like to acknowledge and thank our teachers, tutors and support staff for their dedication and commitment in helping students achieve their potential.
