After two years, Mark became a Head of Year and navigated his year group from Year 7 through to Year 13, supporting students through a pandemic, and helping them to go on to achieve the best results in the school’s history.

Previously, Mark worked in the music industry for over 20 years as a sound engineer and music producer. Mark is a dedicated lifelong learner, having gained a Batchelor of Arts degree in Humanities and a Diploma in Music from the Open University. He obtained a PGCE in Music from Worcester University and has completed a National Professional Qualification in Senior Leadership. More recently, Mark has completed a Master of Education Degree in School Based Leadership and Management from Buckingham University and a Level 7 Senior Leaders Master’s Degree Apprenticeship with the CMI.

Mark’s responsibilities at Warlingham include data and assessment and he is developing how this can be applied effectively to inform all stakeholders and support decision-making.

Alongside his love of education and music, Mark enjoys sailing and has been awarded the Royal Yachting Association Coastal Skipper certificate. He is also a Francophile, and now that his daughters attend university, there is more time to enjoy both visiting France and learning to speak French.
